    Determine the information you need

To collect, start by asking yourself these questions:

    • What is the scope of work?
    • Where is it located and what are its dimensions (length, width and height)?
    • How much demolition material will be produced? What is its composition (concrete, wood or metals)?

Once you have this information, use it to create a list of all possible data points that should be collected during the project.

    Create an estimate template

The first step is to fill in the form. You can do this by using our ready-made template and following the instructions below:

Make sure you have all the information you need before starting to fill out the form. If there are questions that don’t apply to your project (for example, if you’re only demolishing part of a house), leave them blank or write “N/A” (not applicable) next to them.

    Fill in the template

    • The first section is the header. It contains your name, address and phone number. This is where you will write your contact information so that people can reach out if they have any questions or concerns about the estimate.
    • The second section is titled “General Information.” Here, you should put down the date of service and client’s name (if applicable). You may also want to include an estimated start date for demolition work depending on when they are available for demolition services in order to avoid delays in getting started on projects like these!
    • Include the materials. When you’re creating an estimate, you’ll need to know exactly what materials you’re using and how much they cost. This will allow you to figure out how much profit or loss there might be when it comes time for demolition.
    • Determine the labor costs. Now that you have an idea of the materials needed to complete your project, it’s time to determine the labor costs. Like with materials, labor costs will vary depending on the job. To get an idea of what they might be, talk to other contractors who have done similar jobs and ask them how much they charged their customers for similar projects.
    • Other information. Other information. You can add payment information for customers. This will avoid mistakes that can occur when the customer does not understand how to pay. You can also enter your company logo and signature!

With your demolition estimating spreadsheet template in hand, you can confidently quote prices on any job. You’ll also be able to track the cost of each project and make adjustments as needed!
